Youth Learn to Grow and Eat Well…

After watching TEDTalks “Chew on This” I decided to do some research on food and youth. This is one of the first organizations I found; . What a awesome idea! SO I kept looking… and found this; http://youthfoodmovementuk.squarespace.com/ – Even cooler!! Then – thanks to google figuring out that I was actually looking for youth and food not food that will make you stay young…more things popped up like this: http://www.youthfoodbillofrights.com/index.html…

SO then I started to look more closely where I live…..which is already recognized as a fairly healthy and conscious community and I found this which is a great resource if you would like to become involved in San Diego.

Remember… I blog so I will remember my own research. I think I may explore the possibility of becoming involved myself!

Lastly – came upon this… -WHAT an AWESOME vacation idea! I’m going to do this!

OOPS – one more thing…if you do the above – register your garder here…

Become a Pick Up Three Ambassador

Pick Up 3 was  inspired by an Elementary School teacher Andrew Smith in San Deigo, CA. Mr. Smith teamed up with Cobi Emery  on a summer project about their passion for the ocean and a strong desire to keep our beaches clean. The result was “Pick Up 3″ a short movie,  that the Surfrider Foundation would later take notice of and spread the message through its extensive network.

The whole idea behind the movie is very simple.  Whenever you are at a beach, pick up three pieces of trash.  Become a Pick Up Three ambassador by keeping this movement alive through spreading this through your network.

This idea can be applied to ANY outdoor area.  I grew up in Maine and the first thing that inspired ‘green’ thoughts in me was a disgust for the amount of cigarette butts that could be found on the ground in my rural area.    Help me inspire other kids with Cori’s story!
