Project V.O.I.C.E.
Project V.O.I.C.E. (Vocal Outreach Into Creative Expression) is a national movement that celebrates and inspires youth self-expression through Spoken Word Poetry. Conceived in 2004, Project V.O.I.C.E. encourages young people to engage with the world around them and use Spoken Word Poetry as an instrument through which they can explore and better understand their culture, their society, and ultimately themselves. Project V.O.I.C.E. brings together performance, writing, and a supportive environment to inspire youth to recognize that their views are significant, valid, and necessary.
Youth Learn to Grow and Eat Well…
After watching TEDTalks “Chew on This” I decided to do some research on food and youth. This is one of the first organizations I found; . What a awesome idea! SO then I started to look more closely where I live…..which is already recognized as a fairly healthy and conscious community and I found this which is a great resource if you would like to become involved in San Diego.
Remember… I blog so I will remember my own research. I think I may explore the possibility of becoming involved myself!

Ideas for engagement – TEDX Talks
I pulled the video below because it highlights how youth are becoming more civically engaged, though in ways that are aside from voting or other typical political avenues. It also questions how we should make traditional politics more appealing.

I cannot find any information for this for 2012 and that concerns me. This is not the greatest quality and only got a few views.. which is a pity. Maybe we should be paying closer attention…
